The Moon - I feel as though I am getting to know this Card intimately now. The word that keeps popping up to me is Emergence. And I do indeed feel as I am walking right out if water right now! I feel in the flow and groove of life and at the same time a bit frightened too. As I am just starting to get my voice out there!
The Moon plays games with us. It inspires us to be creative, to make a move and go for it. Barbra Moore put it so good in the Book/Deck Mystic Tarot Dreamer, my personal favorite deck) Only by facing fears can progress be made. It’s romantic shadow makes things look better than they really are. On the flip side the things that seem OK, have things lurking in the background. So, we have to be honest with ourselves, and listen to our gut instinct when this card comes up.
As this is my card of the year I know more lessons from this card are going to pop up and I can’t wait to know more. I am cautiously optimistic about this year. I have been planning my life and business and I know that best laid plans change sometimes. (Click here for a super sweet Life & Biz planner for 2013 by Leonie Dawson a great tool to get organized! PS its not too late to get started!) So, I am going to be flexible at this time and roll with all that comes my way. The main message I get from The Moon is to follow your gut instincts. Now intuition can be a funny thing, we all have it, we all know if a certain choice is right for ourselves but on occasion we simply don’t listen to what our intuition has to say to us! We have to TRUST. And that’s the hard part, isn't it? I once talked to a lady in an art store as I was looking at the beautiful West Coast Artwork by her daughter. She asked me “What good is intuition anyways?” and to be honest I had to think for a bit and then I replied, “Intuition, when we listen, saves us from grief that could happen if we don’t listen.” The Art Lady immediately got “it” and told me a few months earlier she had gone out for her evening walk and there was a trail that was faster to get home but darker, more dangerous and the Sun was going down and her whole body and mind were telling her Don’t take the short cut, go the long way. She didn't listen; she went the short way and ended up falling and spraining her ankle. She didn't have her Cell phone and was stuck on the trail for quite a while but eventually she did make it out of there and her ankle recovered. But the message here is listening to your gut! She knew something was off. But did it anyway and hurt her ankle, but if she listened and went the long way she most likely wouldn't have hurt her ankle. But we don't really know, because she didn't listen! You see our intuition saves us the grief!
Which brings me to the symbolic meaning of the Moon…. The Moon encompasses femininity, intuition, illumination and nocturnal happenings, such as dreams. Now more than ever I have been receiving messages in dreams. I keep a note pad on my night stand to keep track, more often than not, I simply can’t get the dream out of my mind when I wake up. There is always a specific task for me to accomplish in these dreams and I now listen! Yippee, I feel as though I am finally getting “it” and learning the lesson of listening to guidance from above. As I put these tasks into my daily life and business I am noticing a big change. This change is that I am stepping into my own femininity, following my true life purpose for the Highest and Best for all. But with these challenges that I keep receiving is a nagging feeling that perhaps I am still confused, perplexed and feeling shaky. My knees wobble as I take each next step but this is the message from the Moon. Even if you feel unsure about the future you know deep within your Soul that you are on the right path, which you are doing well, that you are achieving your life’s purpose and the part that is a little tiny bit scary you just have to work through and be diligent to really breakthrough and make a difference. And let’s face it, nobody truly knows where we will end up and the light at the end of the tunnel draws us in just the same.
As we journey through our life’s calling we step outside of our comfort zone and we have to get creative to make our message heard. Bottom line, trust your gut instincts, follow your heart, embrace femininity and listen to your dreams. I expect that by the end of the year my personal dreams will have the clarity I’m looking for and I’m excited and intrigued to have the Moon walk my path with me for this year.
